The Death Wish Kid
William,
We've discussed young Mr Arroyo's season more than once over the past three weeks. At times there's been legitimate discourse, at times there's been little more than name calling.
After last night's performance I would respectfully ask if you can convince me of any of the following:
1) Arroyo is not having the best season of any number five starter in baseball
2) Arroyo is not having a better season than most number four starters in the AL
3) Arroyo is not having better season than most number three starters in the AL
Is he gonna make me forget all about El Diva next summer? No. Is there any reason to think he could win 15 games next season, giving 30-32 starts and a more normal distribution of run support? Absolutely.

Arroyo is not having the best season of any number five starter in baseballMaybe if you're really into labels. If you want to call him your number 5, feel free, but that just means you have one of the worst number three starters in baseball.
Arroyo is not having a better season than most number four starters in the ALSee my first point, and reference Tim Wakefield's inferior numbers
3) Arroyo is not having better season than most number three starters in the ALI'm not going to dig through the stats of every team in the AL (who do you think I am, Gleeman?), but I'd say his numbers are pretty good for a #3 starter, which is essentially what he is.
Of course, that has nothing to do with your incessant whining about his run support.

Hey, I was blaming blogger's tools.
