Standing Alone Atop the Wild Card Heap
Derek Lowe actually managed a QS tonight and not even Keith Foulke spit the bit as the Sox rolled over the disappointing Blow (a pre-emptive stet) Jays, bringing interim manager John Gibbons' record to 2-6. Alas, poor Carlos, we hardly knew ye.
Despite The Minx manning the keystone for only the second time in his career and some defensive adventures by Lando Cabrission, including the inability to execute a rundown, Lowe managed to maintain his composure, going 7 5 4 3 1 7. His ERA is finally poised to dip below his winning percentage.
At the dish the Sox managed to spread the work evenly, as every starter either scored or drove in a run, though it's hard to feel good about the 21 team LOB. Yeesh.
