Game 2, Boston @ New York
Martinez - The last time a crowd was this hungry there were lions and Christians involved. ESPN counted down the 10 highlights of the rivalry over the past 25-30 years and El DIva was in the middle of something like 5 of them. He's pointed at heads, thrown an old man to the ground, asked the eternal question, "Who is Karim Garcia?," and called the Yankees his "Daddy." I've tried to convince myself that he's working some sort of rope-a-dope psyche out, trying to get the Yankees flat-fotted. Who knows? All I know is Petey's a proud, arrogant man who is facing free agency this winter. Despite having already put together a first-ballot HoF resume, he knows that this game could prove to be his defining moment. I just can't believe he'll pass it up.
Lieber - Pitching like a new man down the stretch, just shackled the Red Sox three weeks ago. What's to say? I don't know...
Good lord. You watch this rivalry and every game makes you shake your head in disbelief. I know Yankees fans who have said they can't take it anymore. Each time you think, "This is the biggest game in the history of the two teams," and each time you end up with your heart in your throat. I took away one thing from last night's game that gives me solace: the Sox kept coming after being completely overmatched for six innings. I'm not gonna pick a winner for tonight's game, there's just too much juju floating around. I will only say this: whoever wins this game will win the series.

So you're saying that if Pedro beats Lieber, a game that the Red Sox really have no excuse losing, that's a sign that they'll win the series? Umm, OK.
well, stros on at the same time tonite. does that suck, suck or suck??? would yall please do me a favor - keep count of how few times on yalls broadcast they mention what's happening in the nlcs and i'll keep count of how many times they show yall. i have this theory that they will NOT be equal, but would like some hard data.
